Is it possible to view the data in specific date ranges? For example- this month vs last 30 days?

Definitely, to do so, click on the wrench icon for the widget and go to the "widget settings" tab. For widgets such as the line graph and sparklines, the time period option should allow you to stretch the graph to display 1 days worth of data points to 1 year worth of data points. Note that some services will not pull back data, in that cause, a dot will appear for the latest data point and will fill out the graph as time passes. Also note that all graphs will always run up to the current time.

Also note that there is a separate option if you want each data point to be over different time windows, then that option will always be found under the "data settings" tab under the wrench.
